After already earning a certificate of training through Carson Dunlop, I decided to hire Gary for his one on one training and mentoring before doing my practical license test inspection. 3 days with Gary were every bit as, if not more, valuable in backing up months of book work. Gary has a huge amount of knowledge and a very wide breadth of experience. The training was worth every penny and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for training for anyone, and he'd definitely be the guy I would want to hire to inspect a home I was buying. He was very thorough and flagged all issues no matter how small they may seem. He produced the report for us the next day and went the extra mile with following up and supporting us in any way he could. Gary was punctual, thorough and methodical on the day of the home inspection. He answered all of our questions, no matter how trivial. Furthermore, he did not make you feel stupid for asking them.

His report was delivered when he said it would be. It was also clear and understandable. The problem areas of the property were evidenced by photos and infrared pictures. Consequently, his report saved us a very large amount of money in the purchasing of the property.

He has made several follow up phone calls to check that everything is OK. Because he is not affiliated with a realtor, his report is honest, unbiased and trustworthy. On top of this, he is a very nice genuine guy who cares about his customers. He is a very rare find in today's business world. Therefore, I would recommend him to anyone.

My friend and I decided to purchase a house between us. We then used an inspector who came via our realtor. However, we were not too happy with the report. We were also unhappy with the fee we were charged. Fortunately, my friend happened to be speaking to a work colleague who recommended Mr Rose. Gary had completed an inspection for someone else after meeting them at the South Health Campus project. Therefore, we contacted Gary. He called round to see us both and arranged to complete a home inspection.

Consequently, we were very impressed by his knowledge and expertise. This was not only because of all the things he managed to uncover which the previous inspector missed. In addition, he took the time to answer our questions and gave detailed explanations about how things worked. Furthermore, he even gave some great money-saving maintenance tips too!

He also gave some support and guidance in getting some of our money back from the previous home inspector. Gary described that old report as "not being worth the paper it's written on.

"Jane and I still can't believe how many more faults you found that were originally missed. Because of this, look at all the money we saved too! We shall definitely be recommending you to all our friends. Awesome job!

I am a Realtor based in the United States. My son is in the USAF and decided to buy a property in Cold Lake, Canada, as he was being relocated there.

Consequently, I spoke with many Realtors in Canada about which Home Inspector to hire. After several inquiries, the same name kept being mentioned. Everyone recommended Gary Rose at Sherlock Homes Inspectors.

Therefore, I called Gary. I asked if he would be prepared to fly his expertise to Cold Lake to perform an inspection on my son's property. Gary was very positive. He did not see this travel as a problem at all.

We arranged a flight from Calgary to Cold Lake. The inspection was completed in the morning. As a result, my 72-page detailed report was received the next morning. I was amazed at the detail. This is because I certainly wasn't used to this from inspectors in the US.

Due to Gary's findings, we were able to negotiate a whopping $35,000 reduction in price. Needless to say, my son and the family were thrilled!

If you are looking to hire a home inspector, I'd have no reservations in hiring Gary. He really does know what he is doing. Furthermore, he can save you a small fortune!
